Tess Wendel

In addition to managing our hiring teams, Tess serves as the firm's business development manager. In this role she leads coordination of bid responses, supports financial forecasting, and supports business development strategy and learning across the firm. Tess also provides virtual meeting technology support and guidance to our staff and clients. Whether it's a controversial public meeting with public comment or a science workshop with multiple panels and small group coordination, she enjoys working to utilize virtual tools to make the online meeting an engaging and informative use of everyone's time. 

Great people working together to support interesting projects from a wide variety of clients including non-profit organizations, government and foundations. I've gotten to learn about PFAS in our water system, the intricacies of wheat production supply chains in relation to dams on the Columbia River and salmon populations, and the challenges in preventing lead poisoning in our communities.

Before joining Ross Strategic, Tess worked at The Mountaineers as their Member and Data Manager. This role supported 13,000 members and volunteers. She provided reporting and administrative support for educational programs, fundraising and membership recruitment efforts. 

Prior to The Mountaineers Tess worked for the Illinois Chapter of the Sierra Club and as an interpretive ranger at North Cascades National Park.
